Hi everyone
I hope you are managing to keep warm - I can say that to everyone on the mailing list as it is as cold here as it is in the UK and northern countries at the moment, but at least the rain has stopped here.
Despite the cold we had a great meeting yesterday, lots of new people and an interesting and fun afternoon with Pauline giving great clairvoyance. Thank you Pauline.
A reminder. Our Fed-Up-February Feast will be at Javea Golf Club on Wednesday 11th February. Please let me know asap if you would like to attend, and remember friends, partners even your neighbours also welcome if you wish to bring them along. I will send out the suggested menu when received from the restaurant, but I need to know numbers asap.
Rather than sayings this week, I thought I would send this poem ¨Nature´s Calm¨ quite appropriate for the present time. Not so sure about swimming in the sea but the basis of the poem I think is needed.
Nature’s Calm
When you can’t sleep at night because your mind’s full of fear
And the voice of the newsreader is all you can hear
When you struggle to cope with the growing despair
And mourn because nothing in this world seems fair
Switch off the news and put down your phone
And just go outside, with a friend or alone
Find peace in the sound of the wind in the trees
In the songs of the birds and the buzzing of bees
Go for a walk, feel your feet on firm ground
Breathe deeply, be mindful of each sight and sound
Swim in the sea, climb a hill, take a break
Cherish the gift of each breath that you take
Watch the fluffed-up robin in the hedge
Let his sweet song guide you back from the edge
Welcome the trickle of rain on your skin
Feel the cold, feel the heat, feel the calm deep within
Marvel at the power of surging sea waves
Their ebb and flow bringing the peace that you crave
Taste the salty sea air as you run on the sand
Feel the sun on your face, and try, if you can
To remember that nature will always remain
Throughout all the fighting, and illness, and pain
A source of peace and beauty, a healing balm
Endless hope and comfort: nature’s calm.
Love to all
Keep safe, keep warm
